Branding is a big deal these days because consumers hold it close when they make a decision about which business they want to buy a product or service from. What many business owners don’t know is that a business’ brand doesn’t have as much of an impact as their personal brand. Consumers are people and they want to connect with people when they spend their hard-earned money.
People know that businesses just want to make money. However, they also know that people usually start a business first because they have a passion – they want to help people. Every business is a person first, and that’s who consumers want to know.
As you are marketing your business online, you should focus on the person behind the business. Your business can have a lot of great qualities, but if it doesn’t have a good person behind it, the chances of it succeeding isn’t high.
How to Build a Personal Brand
When you start your personal brand, think about what you’re most proud of. What positive qualities do you have that people would want to know? How are you taking your inner strength and making a business that will benefit others? How do you want people to see you?
These are questions you should ask yourself as you birth your personal brand. Once you have the answers, you can start working on forming that brand.
The following are some tips to help you get started:
- Be real. Make people can identify a fake from a million miles away. Stay positive and real when you post on social media or blog on your site. Give people the facts about your life, thoughts, and passions. If you’re not being 100% truthful, don’t publish it.
- Genuinely help people. Believe that people truly need your help. Give them the information they need to help them. Give them as much as you can, so they feel that you are valuable to them. Don’t hold back because you’re afraid you’re giving away too much free information. The rewards will be the higher revenue you get with product and service sales.
- Be consistent. Don’t be a shot gun person. People want to depend on others, and if you’re available when they need you, they will learn to come to you whenever they need anything. This may seem like something you don’t really want, but you will when they start to turn to your website whenever they want to make a purchase or when they know someone who needs your products and services.
A personal brand is all about you – not your business. Your business’ brand comes from your personal brand. As you form your online brand, people will start to take the positive vibes you send out and apply them to your business. What’s different is that they will add your products and services into the business brand. It’s amazing how that happens, and you’ll love it when you see how it works.
